Started in 1828 by John Haner, Mackinaw River Farms is located in rural McLean County, Illinois just south of the town of Lexington. On our farm we raise corn, soybeans, oats, oat straw, and alfalfa hay to feed to our Angus-cross cattle, registered Katahdin, and Katahdin/Dorper cross sheep. We also do some custom farming. Additionally, we have our own sawmill where we can mill lumber from our own timber or from logs delivered to the farm for custom mill-work and woodworking. A favorite attraction at MRF is the Halflinger draft horse who pulls a buggy and sleigh for rides.
